This policy explains how Smallr (the "App"), bundle identifier me.linjun.Smallr, handles information on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Smallr makes smaller video copies using on-device conversion. No separate app account is required.
Smallr accesses selected videos to analyze their properties, estimate output size, convert them, and compare the result. Conversion runs locally; videos are not uploaded to a developer-operated server for conversion.
On iPhone and iPad, Photos permission lets Smallr browse videos by size. You can also choose a single video with the system picker. Available videos depend on the access you grant. Saving a converted copy to Photos requires permission to add media.
The App does not record new camera or microphone media. Selected videos may already contain audio and metadata, which may be included in converted files.
Smallr stores working video copies, converted output, conversion records, and cached library information on your device for previews, task recovery, and library browsing. Records may include filenames, file references, Photos identifiers, video properties, settings, and job status.
Saved copies remain in Photos or in the export location you select on Mac.
Videos stored in iCloud Photos may need to be downloaded through Apple's services before conversion. Saving or deleting videos in Photos may sync across devices with iCloud Photos enabled. Apple's services are governed by Apple's privacy practices.
If you export a file to a cloud-synced location on Mac, that service handles the file under its own privacy practices.
Saving a new copy does not delete the original. For videos selected through the library browser on iPhone and iPad, you may choose to save a converted copy and delete the original. Deletion requires confirmation and occurs only after saving succeeds.
Deleted originals move to Recently Deleted. Deletion may sync through iCloud Photos, and storage may not be freed immediately. Mac exports leave originals untouched.
Deleting Smallr does not delete saved or exported videos. Removing the App removes app-local data subject to normal operating system behavior.
You can change Photos permissions in system settings, manage saved videos in Photos, and manage exported files using system file tools. Smallr relies on Apple's system protections for app storage and photo library access.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
